THE CLASSIC MEMORIAL BENCH RANGE

Classic memorial benches are heavyweight, hand built and designed to withstand the rigours of outdoor life. We favour prime grade Oak for its outdoor pedigree and beautiful grain.

Generous timber sections are used on all of our memorial bench designs, manufactured by us from the raw material here at our workshop. Typically on a hardwood memorial bench, the seat and back slats can be rather slender.  The seat slats however are the parts of the bench that receive the most wear and tear so we make them thick enough to last as long as the rails, legs and all of the other chunky components that go to make up a Classic Memorial Bench.

Note: Every single completed component is dipped for several hours in clear wood preserver treatment before we assemble the bench. This ensures maximum protection for all of out mortise and tenon joints.

High quality resin glue as used in the boat building industry and stainless steel screws are used to secure chunky mortise and tenon joints. Deep screw holes are then plugged with oak dowels and hand-shaved flush.
All of these details ensure many years of active service.
